Tell Me a Story

Graphic Designer, painter, dreamer, fashion addict, unhealthy obsession with shoes and jewelry. Film lover and oh yes....books! :D
Love in the Afternoon - Lisa Kleypas Fabulous!!!! Loved loved loved this book from beginning to end. Words can't even describe how much I enjoyed this book. I think this was my fav from the series. I was hesitant to start it to be honest given the plot was centered around deception which I'm not a big fan of. But goodness this was amazing! Christopher Phelan completely stole my heart in this. Handsome charismatic man struggling to deal with the aftermath of coming home from the war. What I really liked and makes me love Kleypas more is that she payed attention to detail. You really got to see Christopher dealing with PTSD, all the symptoms are there and you see Christopher struggling with it through the entire book. Just including that in the book made it more realistic and gave the story/characters much more depth.

Beatrix is just absolutely adorable and so much fun! I loved her before this but I completely fell in love with her while reading this and understood her so much more. Such a lovable character who deserved her handsome soldier. I was worried the secrete would be dragged out through the entire or most of the book but the pacing was perfect and how Christopher finds out was just heartbreaking. It was one of my favorite scenes from the book. I could pick out several scenes in this that were beautiful and made me swoon like a fool. This is a real passionate heartbreaking consuming love story. You even have an adorable mischevious dog named Albert in this who steals your heart and made the story even more fun and charming. How deep and how fast Christopher falls for Beatrix and loves her completely and so openly is what took my breath away and really surprised me. What caught me off guard and really surprised me was Christopher's reaction to finding out the truth it was not what I was expecting which is what made me love the book even more. It's charming endearing and very sweet story. I would give this more than 5 stars!
